Auscare’s Accredited Manual Handling course provides a comprehensive approach to safe and healthy manual handling practices
In accordance with the Code of Practice: Manual Tasks (2010), Work Health and Safety Legislation, and organisational policies and procedures, our Manual Handling course includes:
- An online theory component
- Practical, face-to-face training
- Skills and knowledge needed to carry out manual handling tasks safely and effectively
- Focus on Health Care and Community Services industry
- Safe posture and movement techniques
- Safe manual handling practices
- Proper use of manual handling equipment
- Warm-up exercises
Upon completion of this course, you will receive Auscare Training Organisation’s Certificate of Participation, a highly regarded certificate in the Health and Community Services industry.
We also offer tailored courses to meet specific needs and requirements of your organisation.
Please note that this non-accredited Manual Handling course may not be appropriate for some university students. However, we offer an accredited Manual Handling course (HLTWHS005 Conduct Manual Task Safely) for those who require it.
At the end of your course, you will receive:
- Electronic copy of your Certificate of Participation via email

- Causation/Relationship of Injury
- Defining Manual Processe
- Protecting yourself
- Practical and modular lifting techniques
- Strategies to avoid lifting
- Workplace Specific Manual Handling Techniques
- Preventing common injuries
- Preventing RSI injuries to the elbows, wrists and hands
- How to use visual and verbal cues in order to manage the patient’s position.
- General prevention strategies
- Safe Posture and movement
- Safe manual handling practices
- Safe and effective use of manual handling equipment
- Warm up exercises
Course Outcome:
- Identify the way in which staff perform their daily duties and the physical effect it will have
- Developing appropriate movement patterns for bending, leaning and reaching tasks.
- Identify which bending, lifting and reaching movement patterns can contribute to detrimental effects on the body
- Identify specific techniques for use in tasks associated with the Aged and Community Care Service Industry.
- Understand the rights and responsibilities of injury management
Course Details

In the event of cancellation due to insufficient enrolment, registered participants will be notified via email/phone at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled start date.
